Hummel/Goebel Figurines

.

During our fun antiquing days when we were running about,
We ran across Goebel and Hummel figurines on our route.
If the price was reasonable, we added them to our collection.
This story poem presents a few we gave personnel protection.

Hummel/Goebel Figurines

.

Upstairs in Tamara’s old room is a large wall display case
The bottom shelf is our Goebel Hummel figurine space.
They all resided there watching the bedroom day and night,
Until I pulled them all out to make images looking so right.

.

The first Hummel is titled “Puppy Love”, of a boy so contented,
As he plays his fiddle for his puppy with his love well presented.
He’s wearing a school boy hat with bangs that hang on down,
With a jacket and an umbrella, as there is rain in their town.

.

The “Merry Wanderer” is next strolling on down the dirt road,
With head up whistling a happy tune as his feet seem to float,
He carries an old bag with wood trim right down at his side,
And an umbrella back over his shoulder looking so bonafide.

.

Hummel figurine “With Love” is a young lady so very sweet,
Holding a beautiful flower bouquet as she does then greet,
Her brown teddy bear offering him a flower for him to smell,
As he leans forward he seems so happy loving it so very well.

.

“The Doctor’s In” with his little puppy getting a few little tests,
He is telling him to breath in and out as he checks his chest,
Listening for lung congestion wearing those cute house shoes,
And that little white house coat looking like a doctor so true.

.

The next Hummel figurine is a boy/girl couple called “Surprise”,
The couple seem to be greeting someone with focused eyes,
Looking up at someone saying “surprise” speaking together,
With the basket, they could be hunting berries with each other.

.

A Goebel called “Little Gardner” shows a sweet girl so young,
Carefully sprinkling water on a budding flower out in the sun.
She wears a work apron to keep her nice little red dress clean,
As she focuses hard to see that the sprinkle falls like new rain.

.

The “Chimney Sweep” is dressed in black so soot won’t show,
As he drops down into a chimney getting so dirty on the go,
On a rope hanging over his shoulder to keep from falling down,
As he cleans out the chimney from the top down to the ground.

.

Next is a young girl holding a small pink pig in her small hands,
She is “Pigtails” wearing cute braids with red ribbon bands,
That pig may have a pigtail too, but her hand covers his butt.
She seems embarrassed, like the pig grunted for a cover up.

These small figurines representing true life things so true,
Really amaze me especially after inspecting them for you,
So here’s a few more that sit on that shelf up in Tamara’s room,
That I have so carefully lifted right out of their own little tomb.
