The Beginning 2

The Beginning 2

.
Pam and I were becoming a little closer by this date in time,
I wasn’t too sure exactly what was happening but it was fine.
It was nice to have someone who cared some for me around,
Could it be that this would end my wild days out on the town?

The Beginning 2

.

I arrived at Pam’s house on Grand Street for the dinner she prepared,
She was dressed up nice just a bit nervous and looking so scared.
She said “sit down in the den, in a minute, I will take up the food.”
Anxiously I waited for the food, as the house smelled so good.

Pam said “okay, come on and get it, the food is now all ready.”
She fixed steak, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob so steady.
I sat down and cut into the steak which tasted so very good.
I cut into my potato and the center was just hard and so cold.

.

.

.

Pam was almost in tears, as she said “it’s that dang oven again.”
I said “don’t worry, I like my baked potatoes a little hard therein.”
So I ate every bite just loving that potato with corn and steak,
Telling her with such sincerity that “her meal was just so great.”

.

.

.

That very next week, Pam asked me to go to church with her
On Sunday morning and I said “I guess so but I’m not too pure.”
Sunday came around and I over slept missing our church date.
Pam called so mad that it sounded like me she might just hate.

.

.

.

I apologized sincerely hoping she wouldn’t dump me and go,
I was “Rotten To The Core” but I was changing and told her so.
After thinking about it a long while, I decided on a new plan,
To do something that had never been done before by this man.

I asked Pam to come to dinner with me at Mom and Dad’s home,
To meet them while eating my Moms good pot roast home grown.
Mom said “Pam l knew your hair would be black as I know Billy.”
I thought “Mom you are really embarrassing me acting so silly.”

.

.

.

Mom dug deep for information the whole time we were there,
Dad was his usual quiet self watching the Cowboys and Bears.
Mom found out Pam had taken once some voice singing lessons,
And talked Pam into singing in a very lengthy singing session.

.

.

.

I wanted to watch the rest of the game with old Dad that day,
But, I had to get Pam out of there before Mom drove her away.
I drove my Mustang Mach 1, and it was the first time Pam saw it,
We drove to Lake Meredith and there on the scenic bank we did sit.

Pam, I think I would like to have a boy first if we ever get married.

We talked about things I had never even thought about before,
Loving every minute of our time out there on that lake shore.
Thoughts of family life were crossing my mind there for sure,
But I needed more time before old wild Bill took a family cure.

.

.

.

Pam and I had become a regular thing together nearly all the time.
She asked me out to an ice cream social with her brother so fine.
I said I would bring some homemade ice cream to the outing,
I guess her family, young wild Bills sincerity, was surely doubting.

Nice to meet you wild Bill, just what are your intentions with our Pamala so dear?
