Visiting Old Friends

Visiting Old Friends

.

January 6th we stopped on by to see some old friends of ours,
From the 1990’s when we did the Misques with much power.
Linda and Gene were looking very good on that day so fine,
As we were prepared to talk about fun in so many good times.

Visiting Old Friends

.

We stopped in about 2 PM on Saturday to say hello once again,
To talk about old fun times we had together clog dancing then.
And to get up to date on families and more of our old friends,
While laughing out loud about things until our session did end.

Pam and Linda at the Bartlesville Walmart Store opening and Gene and I at the Taylorsville country fair.

As Linda and Gene have no Wi Fi at home to access the internet,
I printed a few of my latest blogs that had them both within it.
And brought them with us so Linda could read them out loud,
As we listened as she read them putting us all up in the clouds.

Pam and Linda at the 4 H Fair in Dewy and Gene and I at the Gilcrease  museum in Tulsa.

Linda has a unique ability to read poems with energy and zest,
Making the poems sound so good out loud doing her very best.
And when they sound exactly how I think they should sound,
It makes my big old warm heart feel so good as it begins to pound.

Linda and I at Bartlesville’s Green Country Village and Pam and Gene at Mayfest in Tulsa.

.

I arranged the blog poems in the order I thought they should read,
And Linda started with “A Lady I Know” as she moved on ahead,
With some adventures we had with Misques so very long ago,
Soon we were laughing out loud back in those times we loved so.

Linda and I, and Pam and Gene all at the Kolache festinal in Prague, Oklahoma.

As Linda does read out loud, she recalls those fun times very well,
And pauses to relay thoughts from then when we all gave it hell,
Causing us to roll on the floor with laughter together once more,
I love reliving our fun times with almost as much fun as before.

Next Linda read “Two Very Compatible Couples” about us four,
As we all danced as Misques out on those hard asphalt floors.
Doing our exhibition dances together out there having a ball,
While making some of our most favorite old memories of all.

Pam and Gene at Neewalloh in Coffeeville, Kansas and Linda and I at Allen Ranch south of Tulsa.

She read “True Friends” which featured my true friend Gene,
And then “Linda’s Big 6 O” about her birthday party so keen,
Back in an old time when Linda was still our fine Misque Queen,
Recalling those memories we had back then with Linda and Gene.

.

After recalling and laughing so much about those old memories,
I brought a video of Misques at the Tulsa Cancer Center on DVD,
That we watched getting deep into our fun dancing once again,
Laughing in awe remembering how good we were back then.

Linda and I at The Yellow Brick Road celebration in Sedan, Kansas, and Pam and Gene at the 4 H fair in Dewy, Oklahoma.

.

About half way through the DVD, Linda said pause it for a bit,
And she disappeared, then returned wearing an old Misque outfit,
That looked like it was modified to be a mouse with ears and tail,
As we rolled in the floor again laughing loud as our hearts did sail.

A picture from just yesterday as Linda was deep into our memories from the past. How delightful Linda is still making fun times for us all.

.

We finished watching that old video and then had to hit the road,
As once again we had that great feeling reliving those times of old,
With our true friends from back in the past that we still do love so,
These visits make us so very happy as through old age we do go.

As we left we got pictures of Gene and Linda. Gene still wears his good guy halo and Linda still looks like a 10.

PS:   My Misque memories get so stirred up on our Gene and Linda visits that I always feel like I have to write another Misque blog when I get back home.
