The Doll House

The Doll House

.

Sometimes old Santa Claus pulls dirty tricks on you,
Causing very much misery the whole day through,
Here’s what happened to my brother, Craig, and I,
In Oklahoma City, when old Santa Claus came by.

We moved to live in Oklahoma City in early 1979,
And bought a home in the Northwest city, so fine.
We had a very nice yard with very colorful flowers,
On a corner lot with a lake so close that was ours.

Pam and the girls in our front yard with the Azalias blooming.

The girls had adjusted very well to our new world,
With a nice backyard that was made just for girls,
They loved playing out in the backyard with each other,
I had put up their swing set with out too much bother.

Kristi and Tamara playing in the backyard.

Our first Christmas was coming up in the near future.
We invited Craig to come Christmas Eve for sure.
He said he would come to see us on that special date,
And we told him that we thought that was great.

When Craig showed up, we hardly recognized him as contacts replaced his glasses and he had lost seventy five pounds. What a transformation he made.

Craig showed up on Christmas Eve day for his stay,
Along about 10 PM, the girls went to bed that day,
Old Santa Claus came and left the girls lots of toys,
He left a doll house that was to be erected by us boys.

Thanks a lot Santa Claus.

So Craig and I opened the box and there were 500 pieces.
Wondering why old Santa Claus had really fleeced us.
We read instructions and glued all the night through,
And finally finished in the morning at five thirty two.

You try to read the instructions.

So we set the dollhouse in with the rest of the toys,
That he had left in the house for our girls to deploy.
Then we went in the kitchen and started dinner cooking.
As we had company coming for which we were looking.

What a relief it is.

Kristi loved that dollhouse that Santa left in a box,
That Craig and I assembled from small building blocks.
I had a bone to pick with Santa Claus that fine day,
I told Santa to never again do me and Craig that way.

Thank you Santa Claus for my special dollhouse.

Sure glad Tamara didnt ask for a doll house too.

We invited Mom and Dad and JerrylDine and Pete,
To bring the kids and come to a Christmas dinner meet.
They showed up about 11 AM and we ate about 1 PM,
How nice it was to have dinner with the family then.

Top: Mom, Craig, Pete, then Dad.     Bottom : JerrylDine, Doug

( hidden), me, Tamara, Denise, Kristi, then Deborah.

We still had that low IQ dog named Bojangles then,
Doug took some turkey out back to feed some to him.
Someone cut off Doug’s head in the picture below,
So he didn’t get in any pictures that day at the Low’s.

Hey Doug, want to take that dog home with you.

.

They all left and went on home to Texas that evening,
I had a cold beer just exhausted but still breathing,
Then slept for 24 hours in my king sized bed so fine.
Dreaming about ways to torture Santa Claus’s behind.

Man, I needed this beer.

Message:

If Santa leaves a doll house in a box for you,
To put together and glue all the parts too.
Make him stay and help until you get through,
And he will quit doing those things to you.
