Rolling With The Flow

Rolling With The Flow

.
“Rolling With The Flow” sounds like it might be the thing to do.
This poem illustrates you can have more fun and make friends too,
If you break away from the norm and do your own fun thing,
With others who enjoy the same things that joy to you do bring.

Rolling With The Flow

A while back, we used to set the pace making our lives so fun.
We were always doing something new that kept us on the run.
We weren’t happy always “Rolling With The Flow” each day,
So we often broke out and started doing things our own way.

.

We started square dancing again when we moved to Bartlesville.
But some of us weren’t happy with the old foogy groups still,
Some the younger dancers formed a new fun group with us.
That allowed us to kick up our heels and have fun with no fuss.

.

.

.

Rather than “Rolling With The Flow”, we named our fun group,
The Mickey Mouse Gang with our own shirts for our fun troop.
We all became close friends and danced all over the country.
Having more fun the other dancers, yelling and kicking so lively.

When we were clogging with the T Town Country Clog team.
Doing clog dance exhibitions, always straight dancing it seems.
We wanted more fun in our shows so our exhibitions were a sight,
So we started the Misques And The Cuties to do the job right.

We made bright colored fun costumes for the audience to see,
And selected fun peppy music to make the dancing fun as can be.
We choreographed our own dances to music that was best,
And danced exhibitions to give our stuff the real audience test.

.

.

.

As it turned out, we were the most requested group around,
Dancing 2 to 4 times each week to our new found clog sound.
We were real fine entertainment and we all loved the fun so.
For twelve years, we continued to put on our very fine clog show.

.

.

.

When we were dancing with Trailblazer cloggers we had no control,
We wanted to do fun things rather than “Rolling With The Flow,”
So we started our own group called “Rhythm Aces” to compete
In clogging competitions with our own fun little clogging feet.

We choreographed fun dances to let ourselves hang right on out,
Having the time of our lives not worrying or having any doubts.
“Baby Sitting Boogie”, “Big Balls In Cowtown”, and “Ida Red From Hell,”
Were just a few of our fun competition dances we did so well.

.

.

.

The friends we made and the fun we had justifies our actions,
Of not just “Rolling With The Flow” to get our needed satisfaction.
The fun we had doing our own thing filled our memory book,
With great enjoyment and friends that can never be over looked

.

.

.

It’s fine “Rolling With The Flow” if we get too old to break loose,
But while you are still young enough that you can still choose,
Take the path that lets you do the things that you love so much,
And you’ll make friends that will surely always keep in touch.
