Pain In The Hand

Pain In The Hand

.

This morning as I was laying in my own bed sound asleep,
I felt something hit my hand that almost made me weep.
The pain was excruciating as I woke up in pure agony,
Thinking what in the world has just happened to me

Pain In The Hand

I was just lying there in bed so comfortable and cozy,
When I felt Pam getting out of bed heading to go pee.
My left hand was on a pillow laying there by my side
And I felt her touch my hand lightly and I was electrified.

The pain shot through my whole body like a big shock,
As I yelled “what did you hit me with” not thinking a lot.
She yelled back loudly as I had riled her quick temper,
And I said “it felt like you hit my left hand with a hammer.”

As I laid there in pain wondering what had just transpired,
I began to develop some theories as my mind fired.
Perhaps, we had a mean Gremlin of the very bad kind.
Who had hit my hand hard with whatever he did find.

Or perhaps Pam had hit a nerve in the back of my hand,
As she just brushed it when she got up to go to the can.
This seemed more likely as the pain did slowly subside.
Then I remembered a day before holding my iPad so wide.

I had felt pain in the back of my hand while writing a blog,
Which shot through me like a knife stuck into a Hawg.
And I recalled that I had Carpal Tunnel in my left wrist,
While writing those blogs holding the iPad with my fist.

The pain is in a different place, but the cause is the same,
So I guess I’ll have to again slow down my old blog game,
And give my left hand some time to heal itself once more.
While I suffer again from my old age being a little bored.

I’ve got my iPad propped up on a pillow as I’m writing now,
But my left hand is aching all over from the pain anyhow,
So I guess I’ll cut this poem short and end in right here,
And I’ll just sit right here now and shed a few new tears.
