My Old Leather Bag

My Old Leather Bag

.

I have this old leather bag that I carried around on my trips,
As I have traveled the world over as around I did often zip.
It has protected my valuables very well over the long years,
Traveling with me, keeping me company as I went everywhere.

My old leather bag has held up very well as I traveled all around,
North to Calgary, Canada, working on gas plants on that ground.
Then farther north to the boonies of Saskatchewan out there,
Watching closely for animals that eat you, those big Polar Bears.

.

We went down under to a strange country called New Guinea,
Looking for a Liquefied Natural Gas Plant site by the Coral Sea.
Out in the jungle right on that inner coast line near water so deep,
To enable shipping out cold LNG by transportation so cheap.

.

That old leather bag and I went to Australia on the western shore,
To review the operation of a partner offshore facility as my chore.
The facility was near Karratha, Australia, way up north a ways,
I wrote a report and left it with the Perth office after my stay.

My old bag and I headed south to Caracas, Venezuela, one time,
To review some proposed plans for a heavy oil plant so fine,
To allow the oil to be pipelined to a big refinery very far away,
I worried about being mugged in the city there where I did stay.

.

My old leather bag went with me to Trinidad in the Caribbean Sea,
For a start up review for a giant LNG plant for the BP Oil Company,
The plant used the Phillips Proprietary process we sold to them,
And we wanted it to start up smoothly to sell more way back then.

.

I took that bag with me to Singapore for a safety audit one time,
For a Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading tanker so fine,
To operate in the South China Sea near an oil production platform,
That I was Process Engineer for the design phase of long before.

.

Me and my leather bag went to Edinburgh, Scotland, on a trip,
Working on oil, water, and gas separator problems on a big rip.
Edinburgh University had been contracted to do some research,
To solve a big problem to which the Ekofisk Complex gave birth.

.

To the North Slope of Alaska that old bag and I did one time go,
To help with some operating problems way up there in the snow.
Everything was enclosed in heated buildings because of the cold,
And Polar Bears were there trying to keep us from getting old.

My old leather bag and I traveled to Okpo Bay in South Korea,
For a safety audit on the Xijiang 24-3 Oil Platform in the area,
Yard of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering so fine,
Where they constructed the platform for us in a short time.

.
We went on to Beijing, China to audit Living Quarters built there,
To fit on that platform from DSME yard sometime in that year.
While at Beijing, we took some time to see some sights right there,
The Great China Wall, The Forbidden City, And Tiananmen Square.

.

We went together to Europe to Milano, Italy, on a business deal,
To review design plans for a big gas plant in Nigeria so very real,
To make a recommendation on which design should be used,
They followed our recommendations building the plant so huge.

The Duomo in Milano.

.

Through the years, my old leather bag served me so very well,
Even though it got scarred and kind of wrinkled up after a spell.
Holding on to my valuables known as my special family jewels,
That’s right, the old leather bag is my scrotum just below my
tool.
