My Girls And (Boys)

My Girls And (Boys)

.

We had 2 girls born to our family named Tamara and Kristi,
I hoped one of them would be a boy that would run with me.
But I adapted and got my girls to often do some boy things,
Which they loved as much as me, so much joy they did bring.

Soon after they were born I gave both of my girls some nicknames,
Kristi became “Richardson” as old Dad played his little games.
Which to old Dad seemed to fit her fine as she grew by his side,
So I called her Richardson when we did our boy thing on our ride.

Tamara or “Junior” on the left, and Kristi or “Richardson” on the right,

.

Tamara was my last shot for a boy, so “Junior” was her nickname,
And this was always her name when we often did our boy thing.
So I had boys now as we started living together playing our game,
I could not wait until they got older wanting to see what life bring.

.

And age 2, “Richardson” and I planted a garden out back together,
We planted seeds and kept weeds out, working with each other.
Every day we watered the garden as we watched everything grow,
Then we harvested all kinds of vegetables and ate them you know.

.

“Richardson” was there to send off old Dad when he went to hunt,
And she was there when old Dad got back to the home front.
To inspect the game I bagged out in the great outdoors that day.
I think she had a fine time as her family now hunts the same way.

Both “Junior” and “Richardson” with us up to South Fork did go,
We did lots of boy things in the great outdoors we all loved so.
There was three wheeler rides in the Rio Grande National Forrest,
Train rides to Silverton, camping, but rafting the river was best.

We always went fishing no matter where the family did all go
And the ”boys”, Junior and Richardson, really loved fishing so.
They always both caught lots fish making old Dad so very proud,
When the “boys” caught more than Dad while laughing out loud.

.

I recall a time we went to a fishing dock at Grand Lake near Grove,
The girls fished in that dock with me and their PoPo in a cove.
About 35 years later, we went back again to fish there once more,
Catching many very large sand bass and white crappie galore.

.

Both “boys” played baseball during their growing up years,
Giving the old man a place to go to have fun and loudly cheer,
For those girls with natural ability that I really loved to observe,
Especially, when they got a good hit, hitting my own pride nerve.

.

Of course my girls did more great girl things like they should,
And they both had lots of talent so they were always very good.
I went to all of their girl events and I was always so very proud,
And I always was out there cheering for them so very loud.

.

I really loved those things they did as “Junior” and “Richardson”,
As things I did with them was so much more entertaining and fun.
So thank you Tamara and Kristi for being both my girls and boys,
Making my time so much more fun as my I life I really did enjoy.
