Good Books

I didn’t read too much when I was a young man in my prime.
I guess I just couldn’t sit still long enough back in those times.
I did read a few very great books that I just could not lay down,
So I’ll give you a short report and try to take away your frown.

Good Books

I had a long lost relative write a book that was a real banger,
It was very interesting, fun, and resulted in one real low hanger.
The book title was “Blood On The Hurdles” by Wun Hung Lo,
Put this fine book on your read list and then read it real slow.

I read a book about a river near Pleiku, Vietnam, that I saw there,
They had outhouses hanging over that river nearly everywhere.
This great book title was “The Yellow River” by U. P. Freely.
The local natives fishing just downstream, could the pee see.

There was another book about an animal
seeking vengeance,
That tracked down the culprit and got him back in an instance.
This book was called “Revenge Of The Tiger” by Claude Balls.
After the tiger took a swipe at his tormentor, he was having a ball.

When I was a kid, I just loved to go to see football Friday night.
I always looked for coins dropped from the bleachers at night.
A book I loved was “Under The Bleachers” by Seymour Butts,
Sometimes when we looked, we even found a few loose nuts.

Sometimes I even read some of those romance books so thin,
To get in the mood for a hot night with my lovely wife back then.
My favorite romance book was “Loving All Night” by I. M. Horny.
I have to admit, however, that book was really so very corny.

I guess that’s about all the books I can remember that I did read.
I guess my list of books that I read through is not so long, indeed.
I did read “Les Miserables” and a few of Stephen King’s books,
Oh and at several Louis Lamoor books, I also took a long look.
