Fun With Buffalo

Fun With Buffalo

Over the years Pam and I had lots of fun with the Buffalo,
And his wife Brenda the Buffalo called “Tootsie” , I know.
So it seems appropriate to write a poem of those times,
Even though the Buffalo has gone on to heaven so fine.

Fun With Buffalo

Many times we met Buffalo Bob and Brenda for fun,
At their cabin near South Fork, Colorado on the run,
The Buffalo loved to cook and I loved to fish for trout,
I caught the fish then he fried them for our mouth.

Many times we had a crowd up there in summer weather,
We visited and played card and domino games together.
Sometimes we just sat on the porch enjoying the view,
Then in the evening, we sat outside around a nice fire too.

Sometimes in the evening after our day was done,
We went to the Hungry Logger honky tonk for more fun.
We drank beer, played pool, and danced some too.
Buffalo about had the big one after a jitterbug he did do.

When we came down to see MaMo, we had fun too,
One time Buffalo had the hiccups he was trying to lose,
He went through a series of movements with his hands
At the end he choked his neck until he was a very red man.

I sure hope Buffalo got rid of the hiccups after that ritual.

MaMo was the best cook in the whole wide world,
So on holidays, we had dinner with all the girls.
We danced to all kinds of music we always had going,
And sometimes sang a few of those rhyming poems.

Brenda always hid from the camera in the old days,
So I picked out a few pics from all the locations array.
She lost 260 pounds plus and now looks so different,
Turning old men’s heads now with her new body accent.

I do hope someone remembers me when I’m gone,
And keeps those memories alive as the future dawns.
So Buffalo if you can see what’s going on down here,
Come on by the house and I’ll buy you a cold beer.
