Square dancing and clogging made me move my feet,
To that hoedown sound of that old time fiddle beat.
We moved fast to the fiddle music that sounded so sweet
While having a great time dancing on the balls of our feet.

While square dancing the caller called those hash calls,
For us all to follow out there on the floor of the hall.
He played Tommy Jackson fiddle music for the rhythm,
That kept our feet moving to the calls coming from him.

When the caller did break, we did a fast round dance,
To “Cotton Eyed Joe” by Al Dean that allowed us to prance,
Kicking our feet high as round and round we did go.
To that fiddle song that everyone there did love so.

We started to clog dance with T Town Cloggers so green,
Kristi and Tamara danced on the kids exhibition team.
They danced to “Boogie Woogie Fiddle Country Blues”
By Charlie Daniels Band as their clogging feet flew.

After a while we all learned a dance to “The Fiddle Man”,
By Red Stegall who is one of the best in the land.
We all loved dancing that line dance every week,
At Willow Hall in Tulsa, as excellence we did all seek.

We learned a circle dance to “Uncle Pen” so very fast,
That to me was the very best of the best in that class.
Ricky Skaggs sang the heck out that fine fiddle song,
That gave us much dancing for many years so long.

Kristi and Tamara worked up a competition routine,
When we danced with the Trailblazers a short time.
“Tying Knots In The Devils Tail” was a great fiddle tune,
With special words that added cowboy class to a room.

With Misques and the Cuties we loved fiddle songs too,
We danced to “Texas Fiddle Song” by the Hag on through,
We loved the words Merle sang as we danced on along,
To that special Texas country fiddle playing song.

When we started Country Rhythm cloggers here,
My first beginner dance I wrote for my class so near,
Was Mel McDaniel’s song “Louisiana Saturday Night”
About dancing it the kitchen until the morning light.

With “Rhythm Aces” we did a competition show dance,
To “Big Balls In Cow Town” by Bob Will’s by chance.
We had those Bulls with big horns dancing for fun,
While keeping all those good looking cows on the run.

Fiddle music has always been a big favorite of mine,
As we did a lot of different kinds of dancing in our time.
Still when I hear a good fiddle song, the music turns me on,
And will always make me want to dance until I am gone.
