Dressing Up Funny

Dressing Up Funny

.

I think we all have part of us that likes to dress as clowns,
To have some fun and take away other people’s frowns.
This started in me at about age 34 and grew from there,
To the point that I would often cause people to stare.

When Kristi and Deborah were about 3 years of age,
They dressed like Indians out in the back on a rampage.
They stuck Indian stickers right on the skin of my face,
And I acted like a wild Indian that was a psycho case.

After we moved to Bartlesville square dancing again,
With an advanced club in Tulsa we loved back then,
We had a Playboy Club dance for all the club members,
And we all dressed like bunnies that day in September.

.

We got into clogging not long after the playboy bunnies,
And we danced in the “Clogging Mamas” looking funny.
I wore a ladies outfit with a wig, tutu, and red tights,
Clogging with big boobs bouncing there on that night.

.

From that, “Misques And The Cuties” was then born,
With many funny costumes that were always worn.
But this time I did get to be a man as we danced away,
And I loved dressing funny at our clog shows those days.

.

Over the years, we perfected our Misque clog act,
Dressing up funny while clogging with steps so exact.
Entertaining the crowds as we danced all over the place,
Having fun ourselves running at a very fast geezer pace.

.

We danced with that group for 10 short years so great,
Loving dressing up funny dancing in 2 different states.
Our funny costumes became a way of life so fun,
As all over northeast Oklahoma, we did often run.

.

Running concurrently with Misques for a short while,
We started a clog group in Bartlesville with fresh style.
Called “Country Rhythm” with a new clogging class,
Sometimes dressing up acting silly with a lot of brass.

.

Later we developed a clog competition team so fine.
Called “Rhythm Aces”and we always did a show routine.
Dressing up like cows and bulls was my favorite outfit,
As we did “Big Balls In Cowtown” doing our clog skit.

.

Five very big men dressed up like little tiny baby boys,
As we did a show called “Baby Sitting Boogie” with poise.
With diapers, bonnets, blankets, bibs, and teddy bears,
Ending the show throwing our bears way up in the air.

.

So you see why “Dressing Up Funny” means a lot to me,
As over the years it has brought a lot of fun to my family.
I used to be so proper and reserved, always so straight,
Until during my married life, I did change my traits.

Even old men like to dress up funny.
