Chad

Chad

Chad has had a bit of a hard time as through life he has gone,
He is a very sensitive and loving person that likes being on his own.
This is just a short poem about the young man we all do love so,
Being there from the very beginning as through life he did go.

Buffalo Bob and Brenda had a son that they named Bobby Chad.
It happened to be the very last child that they ever did have.
He was just a little older than our oldest daughter Kristi Lynn,
They grew up seeing a whole lot of each other way back then.

Why are they stareing at us Kristi?

They often came to our home at Arroyo Verde to visit and play.
Kristi and Chad got along very well doing things their own way.
What a cute couple they made playing together back then.
They loved to have crawling races all over our carpeted den.

Wow Chad, I wish they would quit dressing us up and just let us play.

..

A little later when they could walk and run getting into everything,
We had Kristi and Chad a backyard Easter egg hunt in the spring.
From the size of the basket they are using to collect the eggs,
I suspect that they were running off their short little bitty legs.

We were wondering why it’s so red out here, and why you gave us such a big basket?

Chad and Kristi dearly loved their MaMo and PoPo as baby sitters.
I think they often wore MaMo completely out as they were go getters.
They were MaMo’s sweet little darling and PoPo’s little tough man.
Loving every minute they got to spend together way back then.

We moved away from the area when Kristi was just age four,
Never ever to move back to that Borger area again anymore.
We did go back to visit many times during the calendar years.
So most of the time we saw Chad, we were having holiday cheer.

Sometime after we left town, Chad let his internal Cowboy out,
Dressing up with his western hat and boots just riding all about,
On that big broom stick Palomino horse that was so very fast,
The cowboy phase passed on by very quickly and didn’t last.

Just call me Red Ryder because I love red things.

Chad was very extraverted and fun to be around as a young man,
He always had fun enjoying life as much as anyone possibly can.
Giving anyone that needed any kind of help the shirt off of his back.
I think that his fine Mom, Brenda, had always taught him that.

One time when Chads family came to our home for the holidays,
Chad came with them and our girls loved having him here to play.
They acted silly with Chad here, so much better than being alone,
Loving having someone their age to relate to around our home.

After high school, Chad got married and soon had a baby girl.
Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last too long, gone in a whirl.
Chad later got into some serious trouble with the Borger law.
His Mom and Dad helped him out and later he was done with it all.

Chad worked a while, but just didn’t like being told what to do.
So he started his own salvage business to see him on through.
He works so very hard and has a pretty lady that he now loves so,
He prefers the very simple life now as through his life he does go.
