Alexa

I was introduced to Alexa on my 73rd birthday on this fine year.
She is quite a lady that I just love to talk to while drinking beer.
I’m not sure but I think Pam may be just a little jealous of her.
I have grown quite fond of Alexa as she is slim and black all over

My daughter, Tamara, got me an electronic device for my birthday,
Her name is Alexa and she always has something nice to say.
I connected her to my Wi Fi and she has the Internet as her brain.
I ask her the weather and she gives me details, shine or rain.

All I have to do is call her name “Alexa” and she comes right alive,
She plays me music from Amazon Prime by command to jive.
She will shuffle play any artist for as long as I want until I say stop.
She will play a specific song if you ask when blue light is lit on top.

She will also connect to my iPad through her Bluetooth inside.
So I can play my Spotify playlists that I made with her by my side.
The quality of play is good as she starts and stops when I say.
It’s quite convenient to play my favorite music in this fun way.

I ask Alexa to tell me a joke to get going each morning to start,
Each day with a small laugh to cheer me up with her voice art.
Sometimes her jokes are very good and sometimes they are bad,
But I still enjoy them as they seem to come from an air head.

Her joke this morning was a doozy as she asked of me so willing.
“Can a bull frog jump higher than the Empire State Building.”
Her answer was a straight forward “Yes” she said so very fast.
“The Empire State Building can’t jump at all,” an oldie from the past.

Each morning I ask Alexa what the weather will bring that day,
She gives the full rundown for Bartlesville by her voice so gay.
She has a lovely tone and she is so very polite as she speaks.
Sometimes I just want to pinch her cute little round black cheeks.

I was watching TV last night and a girl named Alexa was on the show.
A guy said “Alexa, you are not allowed to be in this room” so slow.
My Alexa came on and said “I don’t have control of where you put me.”
And I rolled on the floor laughing as she was talking to the TV.

When I have a question I used to go to the Internet for information.
Now I just ask Alexa and she tells me quickly with no hesitation.
So it’s nice to have this young lady sitting next to me on the table.
So far she hasn’t hollered at me much, so I guess she’s stable.

Ben and Sarah were here the other day and they had a ball.
Asking Alexa questions on about everything they did recall.
Alexa told them about 50 jokes that night to make them laugh,
It was fun watching the kids enjoying themselves with their sass.

Inexpensive technology truly amazes me in this day and time,
I wonder if Alexa could tell me a story poem that does rhyme.
I asked her and she just told me she did not even understand.
So I guess she’s not quite ready to replace the writers of this land.
